How to: know your ‘size’

The simple and precise way is to measure clothing you already own.

Sizing is meant as a guide for how clothes will fit

YOU

not the other way around.

Vintage clothing is exceptional because often times there are no sizes on the tag at all! We have to find the true measurements of the garment and you decide if that’s how you like to wear your clothes.

Find an item that fits really well; preferably something that is similar to what you are searching for in shape and fabric.

For example: If you know your favorite pair of pants are really stretchy, that needs to be configured with the item you’re interested in purchasing. Vintage trousers, jeans, shorts, and dress don’t typically have as much stretch as modern clothing, so please take that into account.

ALL MEASUREMENTS TAKEN SHOULD BE DOUBLED TO INDICATE THE FULL “SIZING” OF THE GARMENT.

Tops and Dresses:

1.) Lay your garment down on a flat surface.

2.) The Bust measurement is from the ‘pit’ seam to ‘pit’ seam.

The bust may be one of the most important measurements, because it will indicate how a garment will lay against your chest. This is usually the  framework for how “S M L XL” is decided

3.) The Width measurement is from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.

This is especially important for items like blazers and button up blouses

4.) The Length measurement is typically from the top to the bottom of the item,

This is important for tops that you plan on tucking-in or for dresses because the model may be taller or shorter than you!

Bottoms:

1.) Lay your garment down on a flat surface.

2,.) The Waist measurement is the top of the garment width, from one end to the other.

Sometimes this is needed for a dress or top that has a defined waist.

3.) The Rise measurement is from the ‘crotch’ to the top of the pant.

This is just as important as the waist if we’re talking about any item that has two legs. It determines where your trousers will sit on your body, creating your perceived waistline.

Our vintage clothing is carefully cleaned when needed and will arrive in eco-conscious packaging.

Please Recycle!

There are no returns on items, so please be dutiful when taking measurements.
